One of the best things about supporting Aylesbury United is the community that surrounds the club. Whether it’s travelling to an away game, catching up with friends before kick-off or celebrating a last-minute winner together, football is always better when it’s shared.
With that in mind, 21st Century Ducks is delighted to launch Ducks: LiftShare, a new initiative designed to help supporters travel to home and away matches together.
What is Ducks: LiftShare?
Ducks: LiftShare is a WhatsApp group where supporters can connect with one another to:
- Offer spare seats in their car.
- Request a lift to home or away matches.
- Arrange shared travel with fellow supporters.
- Help ensure more Ducks can get to games.
Whether you’re travelling every week or only occasionally, if you have a spare seat or need one, we’d love you to get involved.
Why are we launching it?
We know that getting to matches isn’t always easy. Some supporters don’t drive, others may not always have access to transport, while many simply enjoy travelling with fellow fans.
By making it easier for supporters to connect, we hope to:
- Help more people attend home and away matches.
- Build an even stronger sense of community around the club.
- Encourage supporters to travel together where possible.
- Ensure that no Duck misses a match because they can’t get there.
How does it work?
It’s simple.
Join the WhatsApp group, post if you’re offering or looking for a lift and arrange the details directly with other supporters.
For example:
‘Leaving Aylesbury at 1pm on Saturday. Two spare seats are available’ or ‘Looking for a lift from Thame for Tuesday night’s game’
Supporters can then contact each other and make their own arrangements.
A Supporter-Led Initiative
Ducks: LiftShare is all about supporters helping supporters.
21st Century Ducks simply provides the platform for supporters to connect. Any travel arrangements, timings and fuel contributions should be agreed directly between those involved.
While we hope the scheme helps more supporters get to games, 21CD cannot accept responsibility for journeys or agreements made through the group.
