The 21st Century Ducks Supporters Trust (21CD) welcomes the announcement on May 11th confirming the transition of Aylesbury United Football Club into community ownership.

This is a huge step forward for everyone who refused to give up on their club. For more than two decades, supporters have fought to protect the identity, history and future of Aylesbury United. Today marks a major milestone in that journey, an opportunity to build a stronger, sustainable future with fans and the wider community at its heart.

Supporters are the heartbeat of football. Without them, clubs lose their identity and purpose. Our focus now remains clear: to bring the Ducks home.

As part of the new structure, 21CD will appoint two directors to the board to represent our 38% shareholding in the football club. We are pleased to announce that the Trust’s interim representatives on the board of directors will be Andy Martin and Nick Nelms.

We are currently working closely with the Community Interest Company (CIC) to gain a comprehensive understanding of how this new model will operate. We are committed to ensuring the partnership between the Trust and the club is transparent and effective, and we will share further details on these working mechanics as they are finalised. A formal process to elect long-term supporter representatives will be announced ahead of the Trust’s AGM in September.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) for their continued support, guidance, and expertise. Their backing has been invaluable and highlights the importance of supporter-led football across the country.

We also wish to thank departing chairman Graham Read for his 20 years of dedication and commitment. Taking on the stewardship of a club in exile is a significant undertaking; we acknowledge Graham’s role in navigating the club through these challenging decades and wish him the very best for the future.
